Tim began his writing career as a journalist and travel writer, based in Southeast Asia. Tim Hannigan has written travel features for newspapers and magazines, and has contributed to various radio and television documentaries on Asian history.

His first narrative non-fiction book, Murder in the Hindu Kush, was published in 2011 and shortlisted for the Boardman Tasker Prize. He has also written several narrative history books about Indonesia. Visit Tim's website for more information on his background and books.
