Can we build ethical and responsible AI?

Artificial intelligence is shaping our world, but is it always fair? This video explores the ethical, legal, and social challenges of AI, from algorithmic bias to global regulations. Learn how responsible AI development can create a more inclusive and accountable future.

Artificial intelligence is shaping the world around us, making decisions in hiring, health care, policing, and even who gets a loan. But is AI always fair?

AI learns from the data we feed it. If that data carries human biases, AI can amplify them, leading to discrimination in hiring, credit approvals, and even law enforcement.

Studies have shown that some AI systems misidentify people of color at much higher rates. The consequences, unfair arrests, denied opportunities, and systemic discrimination. This is why AI ethics and regulation matter.

Governments, researchers, and tech leaders are working to create guidelines for transparency, accountability, and fairness in AI. From the EU AI act to global discussions on AI governance, the world is is moving toward responsible AI. But there's still a long way to go.

The future of AI isn't just about technology. It's about ensuring AI is ethical, explainable, and fair for all. Want to be part of the solution? At the University of Hull online, our part time MSC in artificial intelligence equips you to build AI that is fair, ethical, and accountable. Designed for working professionals, this flexible programme keeps pace with the latest in AI ethics, regulation, and real world impact. Learn from experts, join a global community, and shape the future of responsible AI all on your schedule.
