Course overview

Hear from A.I Programme Director, Dr Rameez Kureshi as he shares who the course is for, what students will learn, and what it's like to learn online.

Rameez Kureshi: This programme is aimed at anyone who wants to reskill their, AI expertise or already working in AI domain. But still with this module, they can get, a much more knowledge, and enhance their AI skills. Our MSC AI, online course stand out, in two ways.

First one is we have designed the content, of the course to fulfill the requirement of industries with the advanced technical skills such as machine learning, deep learning, advanced AI techniques, some of the data science concept, as well as, statistics skills. Second, we have, designed the course, in terms of the handling the issues, real time issues, and also with the help of AI application, which mainly focuses on ethical, reliability, explainability, and also it can handle the legal issues.

This course, they learn so many things, especially in in the domain of AI. Also, they can use their, whatever they're learning from this course, they can use this expertise into the to handle the real world problems, in various domains such as health care, automobiles, or any other sectors. Also, if they are working in the industry, they can use this course knowledge into, handle the real world problems.

Students can, learn and, expand their horizons for AI skills according to their convenience, so they can, fulfill their commitments while they are learning from, our online courses. The UK government issued the report, 2020, and, it said that, there is a fifty percent job vacancies are empty which required the AI skill sets. With this course, we try to fill that gap. With the Hull online platform, you can be an expert, and it will be much easier to compete with your competitors in a job market.

So the modules we have designed are future proof, having a more advanced skills, and easy to learn. Learning online, that doesn't mean you are alone. You have, we have a very large community. So, large community of the students actually. So you can engage with them and, you can, build your own community with the help of all online platform.

Rameez Kureshi: From this course, a student will be able to evaluate real-world problems and will successfully able to apply AI knowledge within their interest in their domain, like health care, business, mechanical, or automotive industry, et cetera. The module we have designed cover all the aspects of industry, what industry is looking for. For example, the module Artificial Intelligence Foundation provide an introduction to the fundamental concept of AI and their application.

The next is the Machine Learning and the Deep Learning module. This immersive hands-on module will help student to learn machine learning fundamentals, current approaches, and the software, including data mining and the supervised and unsupervised learning algorithms. Third module is the Ethical, Regulatory, and the Social Aspect for Fair AI. I would say that, if you take this course, there will be-- plenty of opportunity will open for you. Statistics came from 2020. The UK government, they said that there is a very shortage for labor, especially in AI domain. So if you have a degree, if you have the knowledge, then it will be much easier for you to stand in the competition, especially in AI domain, as AI is a revolutionary technology and it will help you to grow by the skill and by your personal growth as well.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

Well, I would say, if you have Python basic fundamentals, you know the coding. Because in the module four, I cover some of the Python libraries, some of the AI models. And if you have a basic knowledge, it will be much easier for you to handle or work with the Python frameworks.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

In terms of the mathematics and the statistics, I would say like a linear algebra, a linear regression, or probability distribution, things like that. If I mention it now, it will take an hour. So some of the fundamental concepts which are required, for example, if you learn what is the basic mathematics, for example, [INAUDIBLE] plus see a linear regression, you implement that mathematical fundamental into the machine learning model for the prediction. So if you have that some sort of basic knowledge, it helps you to understand how the models of AI work

[MUSIC PLAYING]

So it's asynchronous learning. So I feel like I-- for example, I'm doing 9:00 to 5:00 job. I don't have time during the day. At the evening, I have family time. So in a week, if you spend-- over the weekend or at the evening, one hour or two hours, it will be helpful for you because. It's not like that you have to attend the class at 10:00 or it's not like that you have to interact with the tutor. However, every week, one-hour session for you, especially to do some sort of engagement with the student, how they are doing, how they are handling.

So basically, we have a platform where we organize a one-hour webinar every week to interact with the students where students can interact with the tutors, whatever the questions they have. Even the tutor interact with the students with some sort of activity. For example, if it is a week three and you have some difficulty in a lab work, so the tutor is there to help you. So that way, it's synchronous. Otherwise, it's asynchronous process. So whatever time you get, whatever time-- like in your comfort zone, you can learn.

It contains magazines, journals, newspapers, dusty textbooks, everything that you could possibly need to do your research and be successful on this program. So everything you need is there in the online library. You have everything at your fingertips that you will need. Also, everything in the online library is included in the cost of your tuition. So you don't have to pay anything extra to join the library, and you don't have to buy any extra books or materials to study this program.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

- Let me give you an example what you'll learn. So if you have a fundamental skill here, you can very easily adopt the evolution in a technology. For example, in any machine learning, you know all the concepts where you know what is supervised learning, your unsupervised learning because everything is fundamental. If you have a clear fundamental, it will help you to adopt the evolution in a technology to build any AI application.

Another example is, when you do the applied artificial intelligence module, when you do that, you see how industry is handling the evolution, how industry is adopting this revolutionary technology. So you see what's going on in the world, so you are not learning only fundamentals. You're going to learn it what is applied AI, so it's a balance between fundamental and applied.

[MUSIC PLAYING]

Victoria Zuber: They will help you with anything academic. And anything non-academic, you have the Student Support team that are there and they will get back to you within 24 hours.
