Fees and funding information

At the University of Hull Online, we understand your studies are a big investment, in terms of both time and money. That’s why we provide you with flexible payment plans to help you manage your finances.

Course fees (UK/EU/International)

Total course fees (including a £250 acceptance fee) are as follows

  • £9,400 (MSc in Engineering Management)
  • £10,000 (MA in Creative Writing, MSc in Digital Transformation, MSc in Logistics and Supply Chain Management and MSc in People Analytics)
  • £10,300 (MSc in Dementia)

For all courses, you need to pay the acceptance fee of £250 to secure your place. You must pay this within two weeks of the date on your offer letter.

Once you have paid your acceptance fee and secured an unconditional offer, you will then receive your course payment schedule.

If you are self-funding or sponsoring your studies, your first instalment should be paid no later than four weeks before your course’s start date. Subsequent instalments should be paid no later than four weeks before the start of each term.

With student loans, your first instalment must be paid no later than two weeks after receiving your first loan payment. Subsequent instalments must be paid no later than two weeks after receiving each loan payment.

How to pay

You can pay your fees in full before starting your course. Or you can pay in six convenient instalments over the duration of the course.

You can pay online or by phone, using a credit or debit card, or by bank transfer.

If you are using a student loan to fund your studies, please email a copy of your loan schedule once you receive it.

Funding options

As a University of Hull Online student, you might be eligible for a range of funding and bursaries towards your course fees.



You may be eligible for a Postgraduate Master’s Loan of up to £11,222 from the UK Government. Please visit for more details.


If you live in Scotland and are studying on a part-time online Master’s course, you may be eligible for a tuition fee loan of up to £5,500. This loan can cover all or part of your tuition fees, but it won’t cover your living costs. Please visit the Student Awards Agency Scotland for more details.


If you live in Wales and are studying a part-time, online Master’s, you may be eligible for Postgraduate Master’s Finance and receive up to £17,489 as a combination of grant and loan. Please visit Student Finance Wales for more details.

Northern Ireland

If you're studying a part-time, online postgraduate Master’s in Northern Ireland, you may be eligible for a Tuition Fee Loan of up to £5,500 to help with the cost of tuition fees. Please visit Student Finance Northern Ireland for more details.


If based in the USA, you may be able to apply online for a private Sallie Mae student loan – our federal school code is G089100 and our OPEID is 00891000. You will need to complete the Private Education Loan Applicant Self-Certification form and email this to us at

You are strongly advised to use the repayment estimator to help you calculate your repayment options against your future salary expectations. This will help you plan your borrowing and repayments to avoid problems in the future and minimise defaulting on your loans.

Please be aware that Sallie Mae cheques can take upwards of five to six weeks to arrive. We recommend that you get in touch with one of our course advisers as early as possible before applying for the loan. They will be able to take you through the requirements and overall process.

Bursaries and fee reductions

You may be able to take advantage of the following as well:

  • Bursary. Cash help of up to £400 when you apply (you must include a statement explaining how a bursary would help you financially).

  • Refer-a-Friend. Any student who refers another student to the University of Hull Online is eligible for a £400 reduction in fees. The referred student will also enjoy the same fee reduction. Apply for Refer-A-Friend here.
