Fiona is a specialist in leadership development and executive education, having held faculty positions and external examiner roles at various university business schools in the UK. As a senior lecturer, Fiona is a Fellow of the HEA and a certified management & business educator (CMBE) with considerable experience of teaching on executive education programmes both online and on campus, such as Global MBA and Executive MBA.
Before moving into academia as a research and teaching scholar, Fiona spent over 15 years in leadership and management roles across various contexts, including state education, public sector, and non-profit organisations and has worked in the UK and in Australia.
Fiona’s research interests focus on identity studies, particularly in relation to leadership development, career pathways and disability. She also consults on business leadership in state schools through advisory work with professional bodies and the UK government.
Fiona is also a board trustee and is currently serving as Vice-Chair for Finance and Risk for BELMAS (an UK based international education research charity) and as Honorary Treasurer for Disability Rights UK, a disabled people’s organisation in the UK.
